President Bola Tinubu has ordered security and intelligence agencies to intensify efforts to rescue victims of the recent mass abduction in Niger State.
The President directed the Armed Forces, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services and other relevant agencies to immediately commence a coordinated operation to locate and rescue those abducted.
The directive was contained in a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
Tinubu condemned the attack, which reportedly involved the abduction and killing of innocent residents, describing the perpetrators as enemies of peace and humanity.
He expressed condolences to families who lost loved ones in the incident and assured affected families that the Federal Government would continue working until the abducted persons were safely reunited with their relatives.
The President also directed the Service Chiefs to provide him with regular updates on the rescue operation until all the victims are accounted for.
Tinubu assured residents of Niger State that the Federal Government would support the state government with necessary security and relief measures to respond to the incident.
He further reaffirmed the government’s determination to protect communities and prevent acts of terror from weakening public confidence in the country’s security.
The President urged Nigerians to remain hopeful, assuring them that the government would continue efforts to protect lives and restore security in affected communities.
