A popular media organization in Ogun State, City Post Magazine has honored the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Dapo Abiodun on youth development and who is also the Chief Operating Officer of the Nigeria Rugby Football Federation, Hon. Babatunde Delu with an award of excellence.
The honor according to the organization was in recognition of Hon. Delu’s immense contribution to the sports and youth constituencies and his invaluable contributions to politics and development of the community.
The editor of the publication, Mr Kolawale Ogunbona while presenting the award to Governor Abiodun’s aide described him as man of integrity and politician with large heart.
He said that the organization has been monitoring his activities even before he was appointed as SSA to the Governor , saying that his good deeds has earned him the award.
Mr Ogunbona said ” We are here today from City Post Magazine, a South West publication of general interest, after from reaching people in different locations, we have deemed it fit to appreciate a man of the people, a politician with large heart who has performed beyond the expectations of the people, Hon. Babatunde Delu with an award of excellence.
The honor is bestowed on him today for his immense contribution to humanity and development of his community. He is a man who has contributed immensely towards the promotion and development of sports not only Ogun State but Nigeria at large and we believe that this honor will encourage him to continue in his good deeds” he concluded
Meanwhile, the awardee in his remarks appreciated the media organization for the honor, saying that he will continue in his good deeds.
Hon. Delu said ” I thank City post magazine for this award and this means a lot to me and it is a pointer to the fact that i need to do more and as the saying goes “the reward for hard work is more work” – I will continue to do my bit for humanity.
He further stated that Sports is a catalyst for socio-economic growth and we will continue to use sports to empower our youths in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision.
He also commended the governor of Ogun State, Prince Dr Dapo Abiodun for restoring the past glory of sports in the State and concluded by lauding the National Sports Commission led by the Director General, Hon Bukola Olopade for the
nation’s recent achievements in sports.
