A support group, Pega and Friends Foundation, has said it is ready to buy the nomination and expression of interest form for Hon. Isikalu Olalekan Abidemi, an aspirant for the House of Representatives seat for Imeko Afon/Yewa North Federal Constituency in Ogun State.
The group made this known in a statement signed by its Board Secretary, Ahmed Haruna, after the All Progressives Congress (APC) released its nomination forms for aspirants.
According to the statement, the foundation has raised enough money to purchase the form. However, it said it would wait for approval and direction from party leaders before going ahead, out of respect for the APC leadership.
The group described its decision as a sign of discipline and loyalty to the party.
Hon. Abidemi, also known as Alajobi, was described as a grassroots politician with strong connections in Ijoun, Ijaka, and other parts of Yewa North.
The foundation said he comes from a respected family and has a good record in community service and humanitarian work.
It added that although it is not a political group, it supports members who have shown commitment to community development, noting that Abidemi deserves its backing.
The group also mentioned his support for Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, who represents Ogun West Senatorial District, as a strength to his ambition.
It said his emergence through a consensus process shows unity within the party and expressed confidence in his ability to represent the constituency well.
The foundation promised to continue following party rules as the political process continues.
In a related development, a private company, AJ Pompy Autos, has also supported the aspirant financially.
In a letter signed by its Chief Executive Officer, Comrade Damilare T. Ajayi, the company confirmed that it had bought the nomination form for Hon. Abidemi at a cost of ₦10 million.
The firm said the gesture shows its confidence in his leadership and praised his contributions to the development of the constituency.
It also expressed hope that his election would bring unity, progress, and development to Imeko Afon/Yewa North Federal Constituency.
Observers say the endorsements show growing support for Hon. Abidemi as political activities increase ahead of the elections.
