The Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has officially commissioned a newly rebuilt RS2.2 Corps Quarter Guard at its headquarters in Abeokuta, marking a significant milestone in the command’s infrastructure development.
In a statement signed and made available to journalists by the Public Relations Officer of the command, Superintendent Route Commander Odunsi Afolabi, the project was described as a landmark achievement.
The reconstruction, supervised by the outgoing Sector Commander, Corps Commander Akinwunmi Fasakin, is regarded as a pioneering initiative and the first of its kind within the corps.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Fasakin noted that the new Quarter Guard sets a higher standard for command aesthetics and ceremonial protocols across the FRSC.
He expressed appreciation to the Special Marshal Bikers Unit for sponsoring the project, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between the corps and volunteer groups in advancing operational excellence.
Fasakin dedicated the project to the glory of God and the service of humanity, describing it as his final major contribution to the Ogun State Command ahead of his reassignment.
The event was attended by senior officers, Special Marshals, and other key road safety stakeholders, who commended the initiative and the strong partnership that made the project a success.
The FRSC reaffirmed its commitment to improving infrastructure and enhancing service delivery in line with its mandate of ensuring safer roads across the state.
