The Ogun State female football team on Thursday secured a spot in the semifinals of the 22nd National Sports Festival after drawing 1-1 with Osun State at the Remo Stars Football Club Sports Arena in ikenne.
The team only required a win or a draw to book a place in the Semi-finals after their imprressive performances in the group stage matches garnering a total of four points in two matches and this it had achieved after tallying with Osun.
With this draw, the Gateway female football team has continued the winning streak, positioning it favorably to clinch the final trophy.
In Other female football matches also played on Thursday Team Edo won 2-0 against Team Benue, National U-17 Female Team played a 0-0 draw with Team Lagos, while Team Abia also played a 1/1 draw with team Delta.
The semi-finals are scheduled for Monday, but the specific opponent for Ogun State’s female team will only be unveiled after the conclusion of the group B matches on Saturday.
