Two adult males have lost their lives in a road traffic crash involving a Lexus car and a TVS motorcycle at Leme, along the Abeokuta road, Ogun State.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Sector Command, disclosed this in a statement issued by its Public Relations Officer, SRC Afolabi Odunsi.
According to the statement, the crash occurred at about 5:45 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2026, and involved a black Lexus car with registration number KJA 398 JR and a black TVS motorcycle with registration number AYT 837 QU.
The FRSC said six adult males were involved in the crash, adding that two of them died, while no injury was recorded among the other persons involved.
The agency attributed the crash to speed violation, warning that excessive speeding reduces reaction time and increases the severity of road crashes.
The FRSC rescue team, which arrived at the scene five minutes after receiving the distress call, evacuated the victims, deposited the deceased at the State Hospital, Ijaye Mortuary, recovered some personal belongings, and cleared the obstruction to restore the free flow of traffic.
The Sector Commander, CC Oludare Ogunjobi, commiserated with the families of the deceased and urged motorists, particularly drivers and motorcyclists, to obey speed limits, remain vigilant, and avoid dangerous driving practices.
He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to promoting road safety through sustained enforcement, public enlightenment, and prompt rescue services.
The FRSC urged members of the public to report road traffic crashes and emergencies through the National Emergency Toll-Free Number 122 or the nearest FRSC patrol team.
