Former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has criticised Afrobeat singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, and the family of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke over their political association with President Bola Tinubu.
Sowore made the remarks in a post on X, following Governor Adeleke’s victory in the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
The activist accused Davido of supporting what he described as a failed administration, questioning the singer’s decision to endorse Tinubu and associate with members of the President’s political circle.
Sowore said Davido’s political choice had consequences, adding that he hoped the Adeleke family would now recognise what he described as the failure of the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration under Tinubu.
“I hope you and your family, led by @AAdeleke_01, now understand that @OfficialAPCNg has failed Nigerians and that Tinubu’s presidency has been a spectacular failure,” he said.
He also accused the Adeleke family of treating the Osun State treasury as a “family jackpot” and urged them to pay greater attention to the economic realities confronting Nigerians.
Sowore further called on Davido and the Adeleke family to reconsider their political positions and focus on the challenges facing millions of Nigerians.
The activist ended the post with the hashtags #TinubuMustGo and #Sowore2027, signalling his continued opposition to the Tinubu administration and his political ambitions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
