Governor Ademola Adeleke has secured a second term in office after defeating his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Adeleke the winner on Sunday morning through the State Returning Officer, Prof. Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
Adeleke, who contested on the platform of the Accord Party, polled 511,067 votes to defeat Oyebamiji, who secured 444,815 votes.
Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) came third with 17,180 votes.
The result gives Adeleke a margin of 66,252 votes over Oyebamiji in the keenly contested election.
A total of 15 political parties participated in the governorship poll, although the major contest was between candidates of the Accord Party, APC and ADC.
With the declaration, Adeleke has secured the mandate to govern Osun State for another four-year term.
