The Head of the Taraba State Civil Service, Dr. Hamidu Ahmed Kara, has urged casual workers across the state to take advantage of the ongoing recruitment exercise, stressing that only applicants who complete the official application process will be considered for employment.
Dr. Kara made the appeal on Friday while receiving a delegation from the Ministry of Waste Management and Resource Innovation, led by the Commissioner, Bernard Shonze, during a courtesy visit to his office.
The recruitment exercise follows Governor Agbu Kefas’ approval for the employment of 1,800 qualified applicants into the Taraba State Civil Service as part of efforts to strengthen the state’s workforce.
Commending the ministry’s leadership for its collaborative approach, the Head of the Civil Service encouraged officials to ensure that all eligible casual workers participate in the exercise through the Civil Service Commission’s approved recruitment process.
He eiterated that appointments into the state civil service would be based strictly on merit and due process, warning that no applicant would be considered without submitting a formal application.
Dr. Kara also assured the delegation that he would review the memorandum presented by the commissioner and take prompt administrative action on the issues raised.
Earlier, Commissioner Bernard Shonze said the delegation visited the Office of the Head of the Civil Service to present operational challenges confronting the Ministry of Waste Management and Resource Innovation and seek the office’s intervention.
He commended Dr. Kara’s open-door leadership style and his commitment to ongoing reforms aimed at improving efficiency and service delivery in the Taraba State Civil Service.
The Taraba State Civil Service Commission is currently conducting the recruitment exercise following Governor Kefas’ approval for the employment of 1,800 qualified candidates into the state’s public service.
