The Ogun State Police Command has recorded another breakthrough in its ongoing anti-crime campaign, Operation Kosaye (No Chance), with the arrest of 43 suspects during a late-night raid on a notorious criminal hideout in Isheri-Olofin along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
According to the command’s spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the operation, carried out by operatives of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Unit, followed credible intelligence that the area had become a hub for cult activities, drug abuse, prostitution and other criminal acts.
The raid led to the arrest of 28 males and 15 females, while substances suspected to be Indian hemp, ‘Loud’ and other hard drugs, as well as 10 mobile phones and other exhibits, were recovered.
The latest arrests come weeks after a joint police operation across Ogun, Lagos and the Oyo boundary led to the apprehension of 84 suspects, underscoring the command’s sustained offensive against criminal networks.
Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, commended the SWAT operatives for their professionalism and reaffirmed the command’s resolve to continue raiding criminal hideouts and dismantling black spots across the state.
He also called on residents to support security agencies with credible information, assuring that intelligence-led policing and tactical operations would be sustained to protect lives and property in Ogun State.
