The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council has extended warm congratulations to Hon. Adijat Adeleye, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency, on the occasion of her 50th birthday.
In a congratulatory statement jointly signed by the Council Chairman, Comrade Akinwale Olanrewaju, and Secretary, Comrade Bunmi Adigun, on Sunday, the union hailed the politician’s landmark golden jubilee milestone and praised her extensive career in public service.
The union lauds Adeleye’s meritorious tenure as a former lawmaker in the Ogun State House of Assembly and her subsequent impactful service as the state’s Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development.
During her time in the state cabinet, she was noted for championing critical policies and programs designed to improve the welfare of women, children, and vulnerable citizens across the state.
“As she marks this significant milestone, the Council acknowledges her remarkable contributions to the political and socio-economic development of Ogun State, as well as her commitment to grassroots empowerment and inclusive governance,” the statement read.
Beyond her political achievements, the Ogun NUJ also praised Adeleye for maintaining a long-standing, cordial relationship with members of the press.
The union described her as a dedicated friend of the media who has consistently respected the journalism profession and supported public enlightenment initiatives.
Adeleye, who is currently seeking to represent the Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives under the banner of the ruling APC, was commended for continuing to exemplify leadership, dedication, and service to humanity.
