The Ogun State Government has distributed operational vehicles to 20 Permanent Secretaries in a move aimed at strengthening policy implementation and improving service delivery across ministries, departments, and agencies.
The distribution exercise, carried out on behalf of Governor Dapo Abiodun, was overseen by the immediate past Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya. He described mobility as a critical component of effective governance and efficient public administration.
Onasanya said government operations depend on constant engagement, inter-agency collaboration, and regular monitoring to ensure policies and programmes are executed smoothly. He noted that mobility directly affects the ability of officials to translate policy formulation into actual results on the ground.
Addressing the recipients, he urged the Permanent Secretaries to remain committed to their roles as key drivers of government operations. He stressed the need for diligence, dedication, and professionalism in discharging their duties across the state.
The former Head of Service also called on the top civil servants to sustain Ogun’s reputation for public service excellence. He urged them to uphold values of hard work, integrity, and efficient service delivery in line with the administration’s ISEYA developmental agenda.
Onasanya commended Governor Abiodun for providing the civil service with the necessary tools to perform effectively. He said the governor’s investment in logistics and equipment reflects a purposeful approach to governance.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Dr. Augustine Oyesanwen of the Ministry of Forestry, Mrs. Funmi Soyoye-Baker of the Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Accountant-General and Permanent Secretary Treasury Mr. Olalekan Taiwo, and Engr. Kehinde Akintomiwa of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, expressed appreciation for the gesture.
The Permanent Secretaries said the vehicles would enhance productivity and make it easier to carry out their responsibilities. They assured the government of their continued commitment to excellent service delivery and effective implementation of state policies.
The state government said the initiative is part of broader efforts to improve inter-agency coordination and ensure that Ogun’s development agenda reaches residents across all sectors.
