Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has formally submitted her nomination forms to contest the Kogi Central senatorial seat under the Peoples Democratic Party ahead of the 2027 general elections. The submission took place at the PDP national secretariat in Abuja on Monday.
The lawmaker was accompanied by supporters and political associates who turned out in large numbers to witness the event. The crowd chanted solidarity songs as she handed over her completed forms to party officials.
Speaking after the submission, Akpoti-Uduaghan said the move marked the beginning of a renewed push for representation in Kogi Central. She described the process as the start of “a movement of hope” for her constituents.
She thanked residents of Kogi Central and members of the PDP for their continued support, saying their backing had strengthened her resolve to seek re-election. The senator said the relationship with her base had been built on trust and consistent engagement.
Akpoti-Uduaghan said her focus remained on delivering projects and policies that directly impact the lives of people in the district. She pointed to her record in the Senate as evidence of her commitment to service.
The Kogi Central senator said the 2027 race would be about consolidating gains and expanding opportunities for women, youth, and small businesses in the state. She called on party members to remain united ahead of the primaries and general elections.
Party officials at the secretariat received the forms and commended her for following due process. They said the submission had been done in line with the PDP guidelines for aspirants.
Supporters who accompanied her said they were confident she would secure the party’s ticket and retain the seat. They cited her visibility in the Senate and her grassroots mobilization as key advantages.
With the submission completed, Akpoti-Uduaghan joins the growing list of PDP aspirants seeking to fly the party’s flag in the 2027 elections. The PDP is expected to release its timetable for primaries in the coming months.
