The Ogun State Ambulance & Emergency Services, a department under Ogun State Ministry of Health, operates as the Ogun State Emergency Medical Services and Ambulance System, OGSEMSAS. The department announced it has rescued 1,091 victims in 2025 alone, with 451 cases from road traffic accidents.
Dial 0811 200 0033 for Quick Ambulance, Emergency, Services that was the central message from Dr. Hassan Adelakun, Director of OGSEMSAS, during a live appearance on Oju Awo, anchored by Chief Olalekan A. Shoyinka (Ayinla Egba) on Fresh 107.9 FM, Abeokuta. He urged all Ogun residents to save and share the number as the official statewide emergency line.
The Ogun State Ambulance & Emergency Services currently operates twenty-six ambulances. Ten new ambulances were purchased to improve efficiency, bringing the total fleet to thirty-six.
The team demonstrated critical equipment including Automated External Defibrillators, AEDs, stressing that “seconds count” in medical emergencies. He insisted citizens should call 0811 200 0033 immediately during any accident or health crisis.
The department’s Rural Emergency Services and Maternal Transport, RESMAT, programme is already active in hard-to-reach communities, targeting maternal emergencies and rural accidents. “Our goal is zero delay,” Dr. Adelakun told Oju Awo listeners. “Once you dial 0811 200 0033, dispatch locates and activates the nearest ambulance to you.”
The Fresh FM visit has driven renewed public interest in OGSEMSAS, with callers commending the agency’s rapid interventions. OGSEMSAS is now asking schools, markets, transport unions, and religious centres to display 0811 200 0033 for Quick Ambulance, Emergency, and Services in visible locations to improve public recall during crises.
With backing from the Ogun State Government, the department said its expanded capacity will cut fatalities from road crashes, home emergencies, and obstetric complications. “Help us help you 0811 200 0033 is your lifeline,” Dr. Adelakun emphasized, noting that early calls give paramedics a better chance to save lives.
OGSEMSAS appealed to residents to program 0811 200 0033 into their phones immediately. Its emergency teams are trained in rapid triage, on-scene stabilization, and safe transport to designated hospitals across the state.
Beyond emergency response, the department runs community training on first aid and disaster preparedness. Speaking to Chief Olalekan A. Shoyinka on Oju Awo, Dr. Adelakun noted that an informed caller who dials 0811 200 0033 early can be the difference between survival and loss of life.
Dr. Adelakun thanked the people of Ogun State for their cooperation and praised the state government for prioritizing emergency care under the Ministry of Health.
