Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has intensified consultations across Ogun West with a high-level meeting of All Progressives Congress stakeholders in Ilaro, drawing key party figures and traditional rulers in a show of political alignment.
The engagement, convened under the Ogun West APC Stakeholders Forum, brought together political actors from across the senatorial district. Discussions focused on party unity, collaboration, and charting a collective direction ahead of future political activities in the state.
In a move underscoring the importance of traditional institutions, Senator Adeola extended his consultations to royal fathers in the district. He received royal blessings from leading monarchs during the visit, a gesture seen as critical for grassroots mobilization and stability.
Among the traditional rulers who received him was the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Dr. Kehinde Olugbenle, who also serves as chairman of the Ogun State Traditional Council. The Olota of Ota, Oba Abdulkabir Adeyemi Lanlege Ekun, was also part of the royal fathers who hosted the senator.
The visits highlighted what aides described as Adeola’s recognition of the role of traditional institutions in sustaining peace and driving community support. The senator’s team said the monarchs offered prayers and counsel during the engagements.
Senator Adeola was accompanied by a large delegation of prominent Ogun West figures. The entourage included Deputy Governor Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele and Minister of State for Health Dr. Kunle Salako, signaling broad support from both state and federal officeholders.
Also in attendance were former and serving lawmakers with deep roots in the district. They included Senators Kola Bajomo, Akin Odunsi, Gbolahan Dada, and Tolu Odebiyi, alongside current members of the House of Representatives Hon. Gboyega Nosiru Isiaka, Hon. Tunji Akinosi, and Hon. Biodun Akinlade.
Other notable political leaders present were Alhaja Salmot Badru, Hon. Tolu Bankole, Hon. Kunle Akinlade, Hon. Kayode Oladele, and several government officials from Ogun West. The gathering was one of the largest recent convergences of APC stakeholders in the district.
As part of his outreach, Senator Adeola paid a private visit to former Senator Iyabo Anisulowo at her GRA, Ilaro residence. The visit was described as a courtesy call to a respected elder and former lawmaker from the zone.
The series of meetings forms part of ongoing efforts by Senator Adeola to deepen consultations and strengthen political alignment across Ogun West. Stakeholders at the Ilaro forum said further engagements would continue in other parts of the senatorial district.
