Ogun State 2027 Governorship aspirant of the National Rescue Movement (NRM), Chief Olujobi Ezekiel Fayoyin, has declared that Ogun State is not for sale to the highest bidder during the 2027 general polls.
According to him, t those who have been custodians of the state and national resources cannot use them to intimidate voters during the polls.
Fayoyin, who stated this while addressing newsmen, said the NRM will resist any attempts by wealthy individuals to buy their way into power.
The NRM Chieftain emphasized that the opposition party is committed to promoting transparency and accountability in governance.
“Ogun State is not for moneybags, and we will resist any move to buy our way into power,” Fayoyin said.
“Those who have been in custody of our resources cannot use them to intimidate us to vote for them. We will not be swayed by money or promises of development; we want genuine leadership that serves the people.”
“the influence of money in Nigerian politics must be checked as many of us like lots of Nigerians are calling for a change in the way elections are conducted, especially the vote-buying and other forms of electoral malpractice being perpetrated by the so called moneybags.
“Ogun State residents are eager for a change in leadership, they are tired of politicians who use our resources to buy votes, emergency philantropists on the eve of election, it is time for a new way of doing things”.
“People want leaders who will serve them, not just their own interests and we will work tirelessly to ensure that Ogun State is governed by people who have the best interests of the state at heart.”
Fayoyin, however, said NRM is determined to make a strong showing during the 2027 general polls in the state.
“We are not intimidated by the wealth and influence of our opponents,” Fayoyin said. “We will campaign on issues, not on empty promises or handouts. We want to win the hearts of the people, not just their votes.”
