The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), RS2.2 Ogun Sector Command, CC Oludare Ogunjobi, has reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to effective traffic management, prompt rescue operations and improved road safety across Ogun State.
CC Ogunjobi gave the assurance during a courtesy visit to the Deputy Governor of Ogun State and Chairman of the State Road Safety Advisory Council (SARSAC), Noimot Salako-Oyedele, at her office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, on Tuesday.
Speaking during the visit, the Sector Commander described Ogun as a gateway state to commercial activities, stressing the need for strategic traffic management and enhanced collaboration among security and safety agencies.
He said his vision for the command is to add value to FRSC operations through effective data and intelligence-based traffic management capable of supporting the security architecture of the state.
According to him, the FRSC, as the lead agency in traffic management, will continue to prioritise the safety of lives and property on highways across the state.
CC Ogunjobi also commended the Ogun State Government for its investment in road construction and rehabilitation projects, noting that the Corps would complement the efforts by ensuring compliance with traffic rules and regulations among road users.
The Sector Commander further pledged prompt rescue services for crash victims and speedy removal of road obstructions to ease traffic flow and reduce secondary crashes.
He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to sustained synergy with sister security agencies and robust public enlightenment campaigns aimed at promoting positive road safety culture among residents.
Responding, Deputy Governor Salako-Oyedele welcomed the new Sector Commander to the state and congratulated him on his appointment.
She assured him of the state government’s continuous support towards achieving safer roads in Ogun State, while expressing satisfaction with the activities of the State Road Safety Advisory Council.
The Deputy Governor particularly highlighted the positive impact of the “Catch Them Young” road safety initiative in schools, noting that the programme has continued to shape responsible attitudes among young people.
She also pledged to use her office to further promote road safety initiatives and support FRSC activities in the state.
