The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Ogun State Command has held a strategic meeting to tackle traffic challenges on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The meeting, held on April 22, 2026, at Sagamu, was led by the Sector Commander, Oludare Ogunjobi. It brought together top officers, including commanders from Mowe, Ogere, Sagamu, and Ogunmakin.
Discussions focused on the major causes of road crashes and frequent traffic gridlock along the busy highway. Key issues raised included one-way driving, overspeeding, and illegal parking of trucks, especially around Ogere.
To address these problems, the command agreed on several measures. These include joint enforcement operations with other security agencies to stop traffic violations and regular mobile court sittings to punish offenders quickly.
The command also plans to remove illegally parked trucks at Ogere through continuous enforcement.
In addition, the Sector Commander will work with organisations such as Redeemed Christian Church of God, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, and Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society to improve support, including providing patrol vehicles.
The FRSC also promised better and faster reporting of traffic situations to keep road users informed.
After the meeting, Ogunjobi led officers on an inspection of the expressway. During the tour, they quickly cleared a road obstruction in Mowe to prevent traffic buildup.
The FRSC assured the public of its commitment to safer roads and advised motorists to obey traffic rules and speed limits.
