The newly appointed Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Ogun State, Oludare Ogunjobi, has pledged to enforce discipline within the command and adopted a zero-tolerance stance on extortion.
Ogunjobi made this known during his maiden address to officers and men of the command, emphasizing professionalism, integrity, and teamwork as key pillars of his leadership.
The sector commander stressed the importance of unity among personnel, noting that the command’s success would depend on collective effort. “No single individual can achieve the mandate of the Corps alone,” he said.
Ogunjobi charged officers to demonstrate total commitment to duty, stressing that their responsibility to ensure safety on the roads must be approached with diligence and professionalism.
He highlighted plans to strengthen collaboration with key stakeholders, including government agencies, transport unions, community leaders, and the media, to enhance road safety management across the state.
The commander declared that indiscipline would not be tolerated under his watch, warning against acts such as absenteeism, lateness, and improper dressing.
Ogunjobi also issued a stern warning against extortion, describing it as unacceptable and contrary to the core values of the FRSC. Any personnel found engaging in such acts will face disciplinary action.
He assured personnel of his commitment to their welfare, noting that a motivated workforce would enhance productivity. “A motivated workforce is a productive workforce,” he said.
Ogunjobi took over from Akinwunmi Fasakin as Ogun Sector Commander, promising to justify the trust reposed in him through hard work, transparency, and discipline.
