President Bola Tinubu has announced the appointment of Hon. Magaji Da’u Aliyu as the Managing Director of the Sheda Science and Technology Complex (SHESTCO) in Abuja.
SHESTCO is tasked with research and development in technology and operates a nuclear research facility, playing a critical role in advancing Nigeria’s scientific capabilities and innovation ecosystem.
In a statement released by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy), on February 10, 2026, the appointments and nominations were made public, reflecting the President’s commitment to strengthening key institutions and agencies with competent hands.
Onanuga noted that these decisions align with the administration’s vision for national development and economic growth.
In another key appointment, President Tinubu named Engr. Adesayo Olusegun Michael as the Managing Director/CEO of the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA). Engr. Michael’s appointment is expected to drive NEMSA’s mandate of enforcing technical standards and regulations in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry, ensuring safety and efficiency across the power sector.
The President also approved the appointment of other board members for NEMSA, including Engr. Aliyu Abdulazeez as Executive Director, Technical. Other members of the NEMSA board include Ikechi Clara Nwosu (Chairman, South East), Zubair Abdur’rauf Idris (Member), Igba Elizabeth (Member-North Central), Sani Alhaji Shehu (Member–North East), Adeyemi Adetunji (Member–South West), Engr Emmanuel Eneji Nkpe (Member–South South), and Engr. Charles Ogbonna Asogwa (South East). These appointments reflect a strategic effort to infuse the agency with diverse expertise and regional representation.
President Tinubu has also nominated Amina Gamawa from Bauchi State and Abdullahi Muktar from Kaduna State as Commissioners to the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC). Their nominations have been forwarded to the Senate for confirmation, signaling the administration’s intent to strengthen fiscal governance and resource allocation processes.
The appointments and nominations are part of President Tinubu’s broader efforts to strengthen key institutions and agencies with competent hands, aligning with his administration’s vision for national development and economic growth. The new appointees are expected to bring their expertise to bear in their respective roles, tackling challenges and leveraging opportunities in their sectors.
The Sheda Science and Technology Complex (SHESTCO) under Hon. Magaji Da’u Aliyu’s leadership is anticipated to boost research and development in science and technology in Nigeria, potentially yielding breakthroughs in nuclear research and technological innovation. Similarly, NEMSA under Engr. Adesayo Olusegun Michael is expected to enhance electricity management services in the country, contributing to improved power supply reliability and safety.
The nominations of Amina Gamawa and Abdullahi Muktar to RMAFC, if confirmed by the Senate, will contribute to the commission’s work on revenue allocation and fiscal matters, crucial for ensuring equitable resource distribution and fiscal sustainability.
