The people of Kwara State are in mourning following the death of Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Imam Solih, the Chief Imam of Ilorin, who passed away on Monday morning in Abuja at the age of 75.
The Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has expressed his condolences to the family of the late Chief Imam, describing him as a fine example of Muslim scholarship in Ilorin.
Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Imam Solih was a renowned scholar and a symbol of peace, known for his outstanding scholarship, patience, and good nature. He will be greatly missed by the Muslim community and beyond.
The Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has announced that the Janazah prayer will be held at the Palace Square today by 4 pm. May Allah accept his good deeds and forgive his shortcomings.
The late Chief Imam’s death is a reminder that even great men die, but their legacy lives on. He leaves behind a legacy of service, scholarship, and dedication to the Muslim community.
The Kwara State Council of Ulamah and the entire Ilorin Emirate are mourning the loss of this great scholar. May Allah comfort them during this difficult time.
The Governor has prayed that Allah accept Imam Muhammad Bashir as his dutiful servant, forgive his imperfections, ease his accounts, elevate his rank in Al-jannah Firdaus, and uphold his family and the community upon goodness.
Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Imam Solih’s death is a great loss to the Muslim community and the nation at large. May his legacy inspire us to strive for greatness.
