Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has commissioned the Amotekun Corps’ new Command and Control Centre and Training Auditorium in Akure, emphasizing that security is everyone’s responsibility, Speaking at the event, held at the Amotekun headquarters in Alagbaka on Monday, Aiyedatiwa affirmed his _”OUR EASE”_ policy prioritizes safeguarding lives and property.
The Governor described the facilities as game-changers for operational efficiency, intelligence coordination, and tactical readiness, urging citizens to join the effort. He praised Commander Akogun Adetunji Adeleye’s dedication, assuring full government support for the Corps.
Aiyedatiwa celebrated late ex-Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, calling him a visionary who pioneered Amotekun with SW governors. “His courage laid the foundation,” he said, adding Ondo’s peace stems from this legacy.
The Command and Control Centre will sharpen responses, while the Training Auditorium fuels knowledge-driven security, Aiyedatiwa noted. “Modern threats need brains, discipline, and tech,” he stressed, highlighting swift fund releases for the project.
Amotekun Commander Adetunji Adeleye hailed Akeredolu as the “South-West security architect,” vowing to boost rural-urban safety via intelligence. He thanked Aiyedatiwa for sustaining support logistics, training, morale lifts in all 18 LGAs.
Ondo Police CP Adebowale Lawal lauded Aiyedatiwa’s backing, promising inter-agency peacekeeping. “We’ll keep collaborating,” he said. NSCDC’s Oluyemi Ibiloye welcomed 500 new recruits, praising the Justice of Peace_ appointments for security heads.
DSS’ Samaila Sagiru called the governor’s support “commendable,” boosting synergy. The event drew dignitaries: Assembly Speaker Olamide Oladiji, SG Taiwo Fasoranti*, Chief of Staff Segun Omojuwa, lawmakers, chiefs, clergy.
Adeleye detailed training for 12 managers, 8 zonal heads, 18 LGA coordinators proactive, vigilant responses promised. “No threat unchecked,” he vowed. Residents can expect smarter, faster security.
Aiyedatiwa announced 500 new Amotekun recruits, pledging logistics, welfare upgrades. “Security’s a journey—we’re in it together,” he said, urging community trust.
