The Vice Chairman finance and appropriation in the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon Wahab Abiodun Egungbohun has expressed deep appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for assenting to the bill upgrading the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro to the Federal University of Technology, Ilaro (FUTI).
The lawmaker also commended Ogun West Senatorial District, Senator Adeola Olamilekan Yayi who championed the bill and saw it through to fruition at the National Assembly.
Hon. Wahab, representing Yewa North State Constituency (II) in a statement obtained by the Nationalreports described the development as a timely response to the longstanding demand of the people for equitable access to federal tertiary education within the senatorial district.
He said Senator Adeola’s effort has brought pride and a sense of fulfillment to the good people of the district.
Our correspondent reports that bill, was passed by both chambers of the National Assembly, received the presidential nod with an announcement made by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during plenary.
