
The Ogun State Government has reaffirmed its dedication to education, emphasizing its role as a cornerstone of the state’s development agenda. Governor Dapo Abiodun made this declaration during the 5th Combined Convocation Ceremony of the Gateway (ICT) Polytechnic, Saapade, Ogun State.
Represented by his Deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Governor Abiodun noted that education is a transformative journey that shapes minds, builds character, and empowers individuals to make a positive impact on society. He commended the institution for its commitment to academic excellence and the development of skilled professionals.
The Governor charged the graduands to utilize the knowledge, skills, and values acquired during their studies to become problem-solvers, innovators, and change-makers. He presented cash gifts of Two million Naira each to the overall best graduating students for the 2021/2022, 2022/2023, and 2023/2024 sessions.

Prof. Abayomi Fashina, the guest lecturer, emphasized the need for the institution to foster innovation and entrepreneurship. He advocated for the creation of an industrial hub, networking with telecommunication companies, and encouraging students to sell ideas to lecturers.
The Rector of the Institution, Dr. Sanni Oseni, attributed the celebration of excellence to the hard work, dedication, and perseverance of the graduands. He noted that they have successfully navigated the rigorous academic terrain and are now poised to embark on a new chapter in their professional journey.
In her valedictory remarks, the overall best graduating student, Miss Suliat Yusuf, expressed gratitude to the school management, lecturers, and non-academic staff for nurturing and building excellent future leaders. She urged her fellow graduands to continue being good ambassadors of the institution, striving for excellence and setting targets for their goals.
