The Ogun State branch of the National Butchers Union of Nigeria has inaugurated its new executives, marking a significant milestone for the association.
The event was attended by prominent figures, including Alhaji Ismael Kayode Agboola, Adviser to the State President of Butchers. In his address, Agboola emphasized the association’s contribution to security and security agencies.
He stressed that butchers’ knives are not for thuggery but for their legitimate profession. This statement was made to clarify the association’s stance on violence and to reassure the public of their commitment to peace.
Alhaji Moruf Akinwunmi Owe, Vice 2 Chairman of Ogun State and Chairman of Ogun Central, also addressed the gathering. He emphasized the association’s unity and called on the government to support the butchers.
Owe highlighted the economic hardships faced by the butchers and the need for government assistance. He urged the government to provide support to help the butchers overcome their challenges.
Alhaji Lamidi Oni, President of the association, urged business leaders to involve youth and young ones in their endeavors. He emphasized the importance of equipping them with necessary skills for the future.
Chief Amolegbe, Chairman of Yewa Awori, discussed modernization within the association. He stressed the need to adapt to changing times to remain relevant and competitive.
Chief Gbenga Ogunbunmi, Babalaje Southwest, emphasized neatness in preventing cholera. He encouraged young members to be patient and persevere, citing the rewards of hard work.
The new executives, including Alhaji Salami Iliyasu Ayeye, Chief Abduwaheed Ayinla Ayoola, Moruf Abdul Sanusi, and Alhaji Daud Ayinde Tijani, were formally inaugurated amidst excitement and anticipation.
The inauguration ceremony marked a new chapter for the Ogun State branch of the National Butchers Union of Nigeria, and the association is poised to make significant progress under the new leadership.
