The Ekiti State Ministry of Justice has brought together lawyers across the state for a special luncheon aimed at promoting professional interaction, networking and relaxation among legal practitioners.
The gathering, held in Ado-Ekiti to commemorate the 2026 Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Annual General Conference, provided an opportunity for lawyers who could not attend the national conference to share in some of its benefits.
Speaking at the event, the Ekiti State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Dayo Apata, SAN, urged lawyers to pay attention to their wellbeing while maintaining commitment to their professional responsibilities.
Apata said regular rest and relaxation were important for lawyers to remain productive, focused and proactive in handling their duties.
He explained that the initiative was introduced to enable legal practitioners in the state to interact, strengthen professional relationships and create a relaxed environment for exchanging experiences.
The Attorney-General commended former Attorneys-General and officials of the Ministry of Justice who laid the foundation for the initiative, promising to sustain and improve it.
The Acting Permanent Secretary and Solicitor-General of the Ministry, Gbemiga Adaramola, praised Apata for sustaining the programme and giving it a broader outlook under his leadership.
Adaramola noted that the inclusive nature of the initiative had enabled lawyers who could not travel for the NBA conference to participate in activities designed to promote professional bonding and development.
He also commended the Attorney-General for creating opportunities for staff members of the ministry to improve their professional knowledge, saying they had continued to benefit from his leadership.
The Chairman of the NBA Ikere-Ekiti Branch, Ayo Daramola, also praised Apata for his leadership and supportive relationship with lawyers across the state.
The event was attended by former Attorney-General of the state, Kolapo Kolade, SAN; Special Adviser on Legal Matters, Niyi Idowu; directors of the Ministry of Justice and other senior legal practitioners.
