The United Kingdom Government has announced the commencement of applications for the 2026 Chevening Scholarship, inviting qualified Nigerians and other eligible candidates to apply for fully funded master’s degree programmes at universities across the UK.
According to the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, the application portal opened on August 4, 2026, and will close on October 6, 2026.
The Chevening Scholarship is aimed at professionals with proven leadership potential and a strong commitment to driving positive change in their communities.
Funded by the UK Government in partnership with several organisations, the scholarship covers full tuition fees, monthly living allowances, travel expenses and other essential costs for a one-year master’s degree in the United Kingdom.
Successful applicants will also become part of Chevening’s global alumni network, providing opportunities for professional development, international networking and career advancement.
The UK Government urged interested applicants to complete and submit their applications before the October 6 deadline and ensure they meet all eligibility requirements for the programme.
