The Association of Nigerian Broadcasters (ANBROAD), Ogun State Chapter, has conferred a Patronship Honour on the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the House of Representatives, Hon. Toyin Amuzu, in recognition of his support for the broadcasting profession and commitment to public service.
The honour was presented during a courtesy visit by the association’s leadership, led by the Ogun State Governor of ANBROAD, Comrade Gbenga Goke-Fadiran, alongside the National Vice President I, Comrade Akinyemi Olatoye, and other members of the state executive committee.
In his welcome address, Hon. Amuzu expressed appreciation to the association for finding him worthy of the recognition. He also apologised for his inability to attend the association’s State Congress, attributing his absence to prior official engagements.
The PDP chieftain used the occasion to introduce Hon. Majekodunmi, the party’s candidate for Abeokuta Constituency I, and Hon. Adeoye, the candidate for Abeokuta Constituency II.
Speaking during the presentation, Comrade Gbenga Goke-Fadiran underscored the critical role of broadcasters in nation-building, describing them as the vital link between government and the people.
According to him, radio and television remain the primary channels for disseminating information to the public before such reports are published in newspapers, making broadcasters indispensable in promoting informed and responsible governance.
Also speaking, the National Vice President I of ANBROAD, Comrade Akinyemi Olatoye, commended Hon. Amuzu for his support and encouragement to media practitioners.
The highpoint of the visit was the presentation of a Certificate of Recognition to Hon. Toyin Amuzu by Comrade Goke-Fadiran and Comrade Olatoye, officially decorating him as a Patron of the Association of Nigerian Broadcasters (ANBROAD), Ogun State Chapter.
The association expressed confidence that Hon. Amuzu’s new role as Patron would further strengthen the relationship between broadcasters and public office holders while advancing professionalism and the growth of the broadcasting industry in Ogun State.
