Stakeholders, youth leaders, community development associations, and traditional representatives in Ijoun Kingdom have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening peace, security, youth unity, and sustainable community development during the Ijoun Youth Summit held at Finest Hotel, Ijoun.
The summit brought together representatives of various youth bodies, community development associations (CDAs), youth bases, and other key stakeholders to deliberate on critical issues affecting the growth and development of the Ijoun Kingdom.
Representing the Onijoun of Ijoun Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Gabriel Akanbi Ogunji, Arapotaniyewo I, the Adele Oba of Onijoun Kingdom, Hon. Chief Olaleye Alani Emmanuel, described youths as the foremost custodians of security within the community.
He urged young people to remain vigilant, law-abiding, and committed to protecting lives and property, while cautioning them against taking the law into their own hands. He stressed that all grievances should be addressed through lawful and peaceful means.
Participants at the summit adopted several resolutions aimed at promoting peace and sustainable development in the community. They emphasized that every youth should regard themselves as a stakeholder in maintaining the security and stability of Ijoun, while also calling on residents to actively participate in environmental sanitation and protection.
The summit also stressed the need for stronger unity among youth organizations and associations, urging members to embrace mutual respect, collaboration, and peaceful coexistence in the interest of community development.
On infrastructure, participants were informed that the Ijoun Council of Obas is intensifying efforts to improve electricity supply across the kingdom to enhance the socio-economic well-being of residents.
On political participation, the gathering reaffirmed that every citizen has the constitutional right to belong to and participate in any political party of their choice without intimidation or discrimination. The participants also reiterated their support for the realization of the Ogun West Governorship aspiration.
Speaking during the summit, the President of the Yewa Youth Association (YYA), Comrade Isikalu Olanrewaju ÀLÀMÚ, underscored the importance of building strong and purposeful youth organizations across Ijoun, Yewaland, and beyond.
He encouraged young people to remain united, responsible, and actively involved in community development, leadership, and nation-building, noting that the progress of Ijoun depends largely on the commitment and collective efforts of its youth.
The summit concluded with a renewed resolve among participants to work together in fostering a peaceful, secure, and prosperous Ijoun Kingdom through unity, responsible leadership, and active civic engagement.
