The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Esther Walson-Jack, has revealed that the office occupied by the controversial Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) was originally allocated to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF).
Walson-Jack made the disclosure on Monday while testifying before the House of Representatives ad hoc committee investigating the PFIPC controversy and the N1.3 billion reportedly allocated to the council in the 2026 Appropriation Act.
According to her, the office in question is located within the Federal Secretariat in Abuja and falls under the allocation of the OSGF.
The PFIPC controversy gained national attention after President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, publicly denied the existence of the council and disowned its self-acclaimed Director-General, Adeniyi Adeyemi.
Gbajabiamila disclosed that he had petitioned security agencies in October 2025 after forged appointment letters linked to the council surfaced. He said Adeyemi was subsequently arraigned before the Federal High Court on charges bordering on forgery, impersonation and obtaining by false pretence.
Adeyemi, however, denied all allegations against him and maintained that he would clear his name through the judicial process.
Following the controversy, President Tinubu directed security agencies to conduct an independent investigation into the matter. Adeyemi was later arrested, questioned and subsequently released as investigations continued.
