Former Minister of Transportation and African Democratic Congress (ADC) vice-presidential candidate, Rotimi Amaechi, has lost his mother, Mary Amaechi, who died peacefully at the age of 89.
The family announced her passing in a statement issued on Thursday through the Rotimi Amaechi Media Office, describing the late matriarch as a devoted Christian, respected community women’s leader and a unifying force within the family.
According to the statement, Mary Amaechi was widely admired for her unwavering faith, compassion and commitment to promoting love, peace and unity. She was also known in her community for her kindness, generosity and willingness to support others.
Amaechi and his family expressed appreciation for the outpouring of condolences and prayers received following her death.
The family added that details of her funeral arrangements would be announced in due course and thanked friends, supporters and well-wishers for their continued prayers and support during this period of mourning.
