The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Sector Command, has strengthened its partnership with the Association of Government Approved Driving School Operators of Nigeria (AGADSON), Ogun State Chapter, as part of efforts to improve driver education and enhance road safety across the state.
The Sector Commander, Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi, stated this during a meeting with the Executive Council of AGADSON held at the FRSC Ogun Sector Command on Tuesday.
The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration to improve the Driving School Standardization Programme and promote quality driver education in Ogun State.
Speaking at the meeting, Ogunjobi described driving school operators as the first point of contact for intending drivers, stressing the need for them to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in discharging their responsibilities.
He disclosed that the Command would soon convene a larger meeting with all FRSC-certified driving school operators in the state to further enhance collaboration.
The Sector Commander also announced that the Command would embark on a state-wide special enforcement operation targeting driver’s licence violations before the end of the current quarter.
He urged the association to establish a task force to monitor the activities of driving schools across the state and promote unity among members to ensure the success of the Driving School Standardization Programme.
Earlier, the Acting Head of Training, CRC Andrew Akhidenor, introduced members of the AGADSON executive council to the Sector Commander.
In his remarks, the Chairman of AGADSON, Mr. Sobukola Olakunle, appreciated the FRSC for the engagement and reaffirmed the association’s commitment to supporting the Corps’ road safety mandate through effective driver training.
Both parties pledged to sustain their collaboration towards producing competent, safety-conscious, and law-abiding drivers, with the aim of making Ogun roads safer for all users.
