The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, TRACE, has received the Most Disciplined Road Safety of the Year 2025 award from the African Emerging Leadership, Research and Development Organization, AELRDO.
The award was presented to the agency in Abeokuta by AELRDO Country Representative, Dr. Rhuefe Khaese. He said TRACE was selected for its strong commitment to discipline, ethical conduct, traffic management and road safety across the state.
Dr. Khaese commended TRACE operatives for their dedication, professionalism and steadfastness on the roads. He noted that the agency’s level of discipline distinguished it from other traffic management organisations in Nigeria.
According to the AELRDO representative, the agency was also recognised for promoting road safety ethics and sustaining public enlightenment and sensitisation programmes. These programmes have educated motorists and other road users across Ogun State.
He urged TRACE officers to maintain the highest level of professionalism in the discharge of their duties. Dr. Khaese advised personnel to avoid extortion and high-handedness while carrying out enforcement activities.
He further charged operatives to relate with the public, especially motorists, with friendliness, warmth and decorum. He said public cooperation is key to achieving safer roads and reducing traffic violations.
Responding on behalf of the agency, the most senior officer of TRACE, Commander Elias Omonayajo, thanked AELRDO for the honour. He described the award as a strong motivation for officers to remain committed to the agency’s mission.
Commander Omonayajo said the recognition will inspire personnel to rededicate themselves to TRACE’s core values. He added that the agency will improve traffic management and road safety enforcement across the state.
The international award highlights TRACE’s growing reputation for disciplined operations and citizen-focused service delivery. The agency restated its commitment to making Ogun roads safer for all users through consistent enforcement and public education.
