Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has met with Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, alongside other prominent Rivers politicians, in another indication of growing political cooperation ahead of the 2027 elections.
Fubara visited Wike at his residence in Port Harcourt on Sunday, accompanied by Dr Sam Sam Jaja.
The governor was received by Kingsley Chinda, the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Rivers State, while former senator and prominent politician, Magnus Abe, was also present at the meeting.
Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, disclosed the visit in a post on his Facebook page.
The meeting comes months after Fubara and Wike ended their prolonged political dispute in May 2026, following Fubara’s decision to withdraw from the governorship race.
Since the resolution of their differences, Fubara has directed his supporters to support APC candidates in the 2027 presidential and governorship elections.
Sunday’s meeting has further brought together several influential figures linked to the emerging political alignment in Rivers State, including Wike, Fubara, Chinda and Abe.
The gathering could strengthen the group’s political coordination as preparations intensify for the 2027 elections and reshape alliances ahead of the polls.
