Two persons have been killed while two others were abducted after suspected bandits invaded Abu-Fadan community in Fadan Ninzo Chiefdom, Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The attack reportedly occurred between 8pm and 9pm on Saturday around a private clinic in the community, leaving residents in fear.
According to the Secretary of the Fadan Ninzo Traditional Council, Aminu A. Abdullahi, the two deceased victims were walking along a road close to the clinic when they encountered the assailants.
Abdullahi said the attackers were allegedly hiding in a plantation behind the medical facility when they flashed a torchlight at the victims.
He said the victims reportedly asked who was behind the light before the assailants opened fire, killing them on the spot.
The traditional council official identified those abducted as Ezekiel, a resident of Gwantu and owner of the private clinic, and the wife of the late District Head of Abu, Audu Galadima, popularly known as Fagachin Ninzo.
Following the attack, security personnel were deployed to the area to restore calm and prevent further attacks.
Abdullahi condemned the incident, describing it as part of a growing pattern of banditry in the chiefdom.
He urged security agencies to intensify surveillance across vulnerable communities and ensure that those responsible for the attack are arrested and brought to justice.
Efforts to obtain confirmation from the Kaduna State Police Command were unsuccessful, as its spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, could not be reached for comment.
