The Adamawa State Police Command has recovered the body of a man from a well and arrested his 40-year-old son, Peter Sinamai, in connection with the suspected killing.
Sinamai, a resident of Sangere in Gombi Local Government Area of the state, was arrested following a report received by the command concerning the alleged incident.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect allegedly killed his biological father before dumping his body in a well within the neighbourhood.
Nguroje said the corpse had been recovered and deposited at a mortuary for autopsy as investigations continue to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Kabiru Umar Hassan, has directed a thorough investigation into the case and ordered operatives to establish what led to the alleged incident.
The command assured that the suspect would be prosecuted after the completion of investigations.
