Residents of Naridon Village in Kamaru Ward, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, have called for increased security following a fresh bandit attack that reportedly claimed the lives of 30 people on Sunday night.
The community said the attack has plunged residents into mourning, with fears that the death toll could increase as authorities continue to verify casualties and account for those still missing.
The latest assault is one of several violent attacks that have continued to affect communities in Kauru Local Government Area and other parts of Kaduna State.
Residents appealed to the Kaduna State Government, the Federal Government and security agencies to urgently deploy more security personnel to vulnerable communities, apprehend those responsible for the attack and strengthen measures to safeguard lives and property.
They also urged the authorities to take decisive action to end the recurring violence and restore normalcy to the affected communities.
