Troops of Operation MESA, in collaboration with local vigilantes, have arrested three suspected terrorists during a clearance operation in Dutsen Kwadu Forest in Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
The suspects were apprehended at about 4 a.m. on Monday following intelligence reports on the movement of suspected criminal elements within the forest.
Security sources disclosed that the joint operation targeted hideouts believed to be used by terrorists and other criminal groups operating in the area.
The three suspects are currently in custody and undergoing preliminary investigation to establish their identities, affiliations and possible involvement in terrorist activities.
The raid forms part of ongoing security operations aimed at denying terrorists and other criminal groups safe havens in Bauchi State and across the North-East region.
