The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has launched a fresh attack on President Bola Tinubu’s administration, accusing it of failing to address critical challenges facing the country, including insecurity, economic hardship, healthcare and education.
In a statement posted on X on Sunday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the government has shown “disdain” for Nigerians at home and abroad, particularly those who relocated overseas in search of better opportunities.
According to Abdullahi, the administration has no justification for claiming that living conditions in Nigeria are better than those experienced by Nigerians in the diaspora when the country continues to grapple with insecurity, unemployment and economic instability.
He urged the government to focus on fixing the nation’s problems rather than criticising Nigerians who have sought better lives abroad.
The ADC spokesman also highlighted the economic contributions of Nigerians in the diaspora, noting that official remittances of $21.8 billion in 2025 came close to Nigeria’s total oil export earnings of $31.5 billion for the same period.
