A prompt distress call by residents of Gangaren Makurdi Village in Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State has helped security operatives thwart a suspected bandit attack on the community.
The attempted attack occurred on Thursday night when suspected bandits reportedly invaded the area, triggering an emergency alert to security authorities.
In response, troops of the 17 Brigade, in collaboration with members of the Vigilante Group and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), swiftly mobilised to the village.
The rapid deployment of the joint security team forced the suspected attackers to flee before carrying out any assault on the community.
Security analyst Bakatsine, who disclosed the incident in a post on X on Friday, commended the troops and local security volunteers for their prompt intervention.
He praised the security operatives for their professionalism and commitment to safeguarding lives and communities, noting that their quick response prevented what could have been another deadly attack in the area.
There were no reports of casualties or property damage as of the time of filing this report.
