The Ogun State Police Command has recovered a Lexus RX300 stolen from the residence of retired Ogun State Television broadcaster Kitan Oyesiku, who was murdered alongside her security guard in Iyana Agodo Village, Owode-Egba area.
The command’s spokesperson, CSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed on Sunday, June 22, 2026, that operatives recovered the vehicle during night hours and secured it as evidence in the ongoing investigation into the double murder.
Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni visited the crime scene on Monday for an on-the-spot assessment of investigative progress. The command said the visit was aimed at evaluating efforts by detectives handling the case.
“Further to the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths of retired broadcaster, Ms. Kitan Oyesiku, and her security guard, CP Bode Ojajuni today visited the scene for an on-the-spot assessment and to personally evaluate the progress of ongoing investigative efforts,” Babaseyi stated.
During the inspection, Ojajuni toured the premises and received briefings from investigators. He reiterated the command’s commitment to ensuring that the perpetrators are identified, arrested and prosecuted.
“CP Ojajuni reiterated the Command’s resolve to leave no stone unturned in unraveling the circumstances surrounding the incident and ensuring that those responsible are identified, apprehended, and brought to justice,” the PPRO said.
The killings occurred at the retired broadcaster’s residence in Iyana Agodo Village, Owode-Egba, under unclear circumstances. A resident had raised alarm over suspicious movements, prompting police operatives to storm the premises.
Preliminary findings revealed signs of forced entry. During a search of the premises, the security guard was found dead at his post while Oyesiku’s body was later discovered inside the apartment.
The police said the recovered Lexus RX300 has been secured as part of the investigation. CP Ojajuni commiserated with the family of the deceased and assured residents that intensive investigation is ongoing, with all available resources deployed to track down the killers.
