Detectives attached to Agbado Division of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 32-year-old security guard, Abraham Aneka, over allegations of defiling a 16-year-old girl and threatening her with a locally made firearm in the Abule-Ijoko area.
The arrest followed a swift, intelligence-driven operation after the victim’s family reported the incident at Agbado Division in the early hours of June 10, 2026. The complaint detailed how the teenager was attacked while returning home the previous night.
According to police, the incident occurred on the night of June 9, 2026, when the minor was accosted by the suspect who was allegedly armed with a single-barrel locally fabricated gun. He reportedly threatened her before forcing her to his residence in Abule-Ijoko.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect allegedly had unlawful carnal knowledge of the girl without her consent. He also attempted to rob her of her belongings during the ordeal, police said.
Upon receiving the complaint, detectives launched a coordinated manhunt. The suspect was tracked and arrested promptly, while the firearm allegedly used to intimidate the victim was recovered at his residence during a search.
Officers also visited the scene of the incident as part of ongoing investigative procedures to gather evidence and document the circumstances surrounding the alleged crime.
The victim was issued a medical form and taken to a hospital for examination and treatment. Medical personnel are expected to provide a report that will form part of the evidence for prosecution.
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department at Eleweran, Abeokuta, for discreet and comprehensive investigation. The suspect remains in custody and will be charged to court after investigations are concluded.
Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, reiterated the Command’s zero tolerance for sexual and gender-based violence, especially offences against minors.
