The Province Governor of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), unity province, Apostle P. O. Adeniji, has called on governments at all levels to rise to their responsibilities and tackle insecurity and economic hardship facing Nigerians.
Adeniji made the call during the 2026 Pentecostal Day celebration themed, “The Consuming Fire,” held in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The three-day crusade began on Friday, May 22, and ended on Sunday, May 24, 2026. The programme started at God Is Able Covenant Mission, behind Fatgbems Filling Station, Ita-Oshin, Abeokuta, and ended at the Foursquare Gospel Church, Ita-Oshin District Headquarters.
Speaking during a rally held on the final day of the programme, Apostle Adeniji, alongside senior pastors and members of the PFN chapter, protested against the growing insecurity and hardship in the country.
He urged governors and political leaders across Nigeria to wake up to their statutory duties and protect the lives of citizens.
According to him, “We are calling on our government to wake up at every level and wake up to their statutory roles and statutory duties for which we elected them into office. Every life in Nigeria matters.”
He lamented that many Nigerians now live in fear due to insecurity across the country.
“We want our children to live. We want our wives to be secured. Our aged mothers and fathers also have the right to live. This country is no longer safe. People can no longer move freely from one place to another,” he said.
The cleric also expressed concern over the economic situation in the country, saying the hardship was taking a serious toll on citizens.
“The economic hardship is too much. It is affecting everybody. If the government can no longer handle the situation alone, they should seek help,” he added.
During the rally, members of the PFN chapter chanted solidarity messages, demanding peace, justice, and an end to killings in the country.
“We demand peace and security. Enough is enough. Stop the bloodshed and killings of innocent Nigerians. Nigeria must be safe again,” the protesters declared.
They also called on the federal, state, and local governments to unite against violence and terrorism, stressing that every Nigerian life matters.
