There was mammoth crowd on Thursday in ward 13, Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State, as party leaders and members came out in their large numbers to show their unflinching support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship consensus candidate , Senator Olamilekan Adeola ahead of the 2027 general election.
Our correspondent who monitored the election gathered that the party members trooped out to support the APC governorship candidate.
The council chairman of Abeokuta South Local Government Hon. Balogun Olaniyi Afeez while speaking with newsmen after the primary said ward 13 is fully behind the APC candidate, saying that Yayi has proven to be an outstanding politician.
He submitted that all the residents of Abeokuta South have confidence in him in taking the State to a greater height, saying that he is up to the task.
“We are here to support our man, the incoming governor of Ogun State, Senator Olamilekan Adeola Yayi with votes.
You all can see all the ward members in their large numbers, coming out all because of Senator Yayi, this is to tell you that we in ward 13 are fully behind the APC governorship candidate and we will not stop mobilising for him. We are all going to elect him into office come 2027 general elections” he concluded
Former caretaker chairman, Abeokuta South Local Government, Hon. Ayomide Shomide, popularly known as Ayshow while speaking with journalists maintained that Senator Yayi remains unbeatable, saying that his good record speaks all times.
Aysho said that he is not surprised by the large turnout, saying that the Senator has written his name in gold.
He said that the party members in ward 13 have come out in their large numbers as to show their love and support for Senator Yayi to become the next governor of Ogun State.
Aysho submitted that the good deeds and his performance as Senator earned him the ticket, saying that ward 13 in Abeokuta will support him to win at the 2027 polls.
He maintained that the exercise today was free, fair and rancour-free, saying that every body affirmed Senator Yayi as governorship candidate.
“It’s peaceful in Abeokuta South Local Government Ward 13 and in Ogun State as a whole. We are affirming the consensus candidate of our party for the 2027 governorship election, who is Senator Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi),” he said.
He added that the ward remains fully aligned with the senator’s ambition, describing the support as unanimous.
“We believe in his vision that Senator Yayi will take Ogun State to a greater height Ward 13, Abeokuta South is behind Yayi and will are going to work hard to ensure he wins landslide victory at the polls.
The immediate past chairman of the local government, Hon. Majekodunmi described the exercise as peaceful, saying that the people have affirmed Senator Yayi as governorship candidate.
He therefore urged the residents of Ogun State to prepare themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections and mobilze massive votes for the APC governorship candidate.
