The Ogun State Coordinator of TEAM DA 4 PBAT 2027, Hon. Ajeigbe Umar Ishola Ilerioluwa has declared support for Engr. Jamiu Ogundele, popularly known as Jamzalod, in his bid for the All Progressives Congress House of Assembly ticket in Imeko Afon State Constituency
Hon. Ilerioluwa said that while all aspirants who obtained the APC nomination form are qualified to represent the constituency, the party’s zoning arrangement points to the Isokan Area of Afon Zone as the next zone to produce the candidate. He noted that key appointments in the area have already gone to other zones, making Isokan’s turn for representation.
“Engr. Jamiu has an impactful track record across Imeko Afon Local Government. With his grassroots reach and commitment, APC is assured of a wide-margin victory in the 2027 elections if he flies the party’s flag,” Ilerioluwa stated in the press release issued on Sunday.
He appealed to Governor Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun and APC stakeholders in Imeko Afon Local Government to rally behind Engr. Jamiu to secure the party’s nomination. According to him, the engineer’s connection with grassroots communities gives the APC a strong advantage ahead of the 2027 polls.
TEAM DA 4 PBAT 2027, a political mobilization group aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election agenda, said its endorsement is part of efforts to strengthen the party’s structure at the local level. The group pledged to continue mobilizing support for the APC across Ogun State.
Ilerioluwa emphasized that unity within the party and adherence to zoning principles would help prevent internal friction and ensure a smooth selection process. He said the focus should remain on fielding a candidate with proven capacity and local acceptance.
Engr. Jamiu Ogundele, who has been active in community development projects across Imeko Afon, is seen by supporters as a candidate with both technical expertise and political appeal. His supporters believe his emergence could consolidate APC’s hold in the constituency.
The endorsement adds to early political alignments within Ogun APC as aspirants begin positioning themselves for the 2027 general elections. Party leaders are expected to weigh zoning considerations alongside individual merit in the selection process.
