The Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture and Food Security,Dr.Angel Adelaja-Kuye, has commended the All Farmers Association of Nigeria, Ogun State chapter, for its unwavering commitment to advancing agriculture in the state.
Dr. Adelaja-Kuye gave the commendation on Tuesday at the AFAN 2026 Congress and New Season Party held at the OGADEP Hall in Abeokuta.
Speaking at the event, she praised farmers across the state for their dedication and consistent engagement with government initiatives. She noted that farmers play a vital role in ensuring the success of agricultural policies and programmes, particularly at the grassroots level.
“I want to thank all of you farmers. There is hardly a day you are not in our offices bringing opportunities or seeking support. We work with you and depend on you to ensure that farmers in the communities are actively engaged,” she said.
The Special Adviser described AFAN as a key partner in driving agricultural development, adding that the association remains at the forefront of efforts to reach rural farmers and support essential workers within the sector.
She also commended the Ogun State Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon. Bolu Owotomo, for his collaborative approach and commitment to farmers’ welfare.
Dr. Adelaja-Kuye lauded Hon. Owotomo for maintaining an open-door policy and fostering inclusiveness among commodity groups, traditional institutions, and young people in agriculture.
“Thank you for working hand-in-hand with the farmers, for always being open and accessible to all commodity groups. Your engagement with traditional rulers, youths, and stakeholders has been commendable,” she said.
She further appreciated the Hon. commissioner for providing her with the support and flexibility needed to implement various agricultural initiatives, noting that such cooperation has contributed to increased activities in the sector.
According to her, Ogun State has witnessed significant growth and renewed momentum in agriculture, driven by the administration’s commitment to food security and rural development.
The AFAN Congress and New Season Party brought together farmers, stakeholders, and government officials to review progress in the sector and strategize for the coming farming season.
