The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the Nigeria Police Force have reaffirmed their commitment to a stronger partnership in tackling drug abuse and illicit trafficking in Ogun State.
This followed a familiarization visit by the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, to the NDLEA State Command Headquarters on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
Welcoming the police chief, the NDLEA State Commander, CN Tijjani Rabe, expressed appreciation for the visit and highlighted the importance of synergy among security agencies in addressing drug-related crimes.
He stressed that effective collaboration remains crucial to enhancing public safety and curbing the menace of drug abuse in the state.
CP Ojajuni, in his remarks, said his visit was aimed at fostering stronger ties with the NDLEA and reaffirming the police command’s readiness to sustain joint efforts in combating drug trafficking and abuse. He commended the agency for its role in drug control and assured of continuous cooperation.
Both leaders discussed practical measures to deepen coordination, including improved intelligence sharing and sustained joint enforcement operations. Commander Rabe noted that drug abuse and trafficking often fuel violent crimes, emphasizing the need for a unified, intelligence-driven response.
As part of the visit, Commander Rabe presented a symbolic memento to the Commissioner of Police and decorated him as a War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) Ambassador.
The visit concluded with a photo session, underscoring the renewed commitment of both agencies to rid Ogun State of drug-related crimes.
