The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is gearing up for the 2027 elections, with a caucus meeting scheduled for Monday, April 13, 2026, at 4 p.m. at the party secretariat in Abeokuta.
The meeting aims to strengthen party unity, review current political developments, and chart a forward-looking course for the party in the state.
According to the state party chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi, the meeting will focus on modalities for picking candidates for the 2027 election, exploring consensus and direct primaries. This comes as the party seeks to solidify its position in the state.
The meeting will be attended by key party stakeholders, including past and present governors, deputy governors, national assembly members, and other party officials. The party’s commitment to unity and progress is expected to be a major theme of the meeting.
In recent developments, the APC has been making strides in Ogun State, with a new secretariat under construction and expected to be completed by July 2026. The party has also been attracting members from other parties, with some notable defections in recent weeks.
