The Ogun State Police Command on Wednesday conducted a state-wide public sensitization campaign as part of activities marking Day 3 of the 2026 Police Week.
The exercise, led by the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, was carried out across all Area Commands and Divisions in the state, with a focus on strengthening community trust and promoting public safety.
In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, the Command noted that the campaign, themed “Community Partnership: Building Trust,” focused on educating residents about the dangers of electoral malpractice, including ballot snatching and electoral violence.
Officers also sensitized the public on the importance of road safety and strict compliance with traffic regulations.
According to the Command, the initiative is aimed at fostering a sense of shared responsibility between the police and the public in maintaining peace and order, particularly ahead of electoral activities.
To further create a friendly atmosphere and deepen police-community relations, officers distributed cooked meals, drinks, and souvenirs to members of the public, a gesture that was widely appreciated.
The Ogun State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to sustained engagement with residents, emphasizing that public cooperation remains vital to achieving a safer and more secure society.
