No fewer than 51 widows are set to benefit from an empowerment programme as part of activities lined up for the seventh edition of the Alagbawi Nla Praise Festival 2026 scheduled to hold in Abeokuta, Ogun state cipital.
The annual praise event, which also celebrates March-born individuals, will take place on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Herbert Ogunde Hall, Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, beginning at 11:00 a.m., with free entry for all attendees.
Convener of the festival, Akinyemi Titus Olatoye, popularly known as Alawiye Federal, disclosed this while speaking with Global Tribune reporter at his office in Jide Jones, Oke-Lewo, Abeokuta.
He noted that the empowerment initiative for widows has become a core aspect of the programme, aimed at supporting vulnerable members of society.
According to him, this year’s edition promises to be exceptional as it marks the seventh outing of the annual gathering, which holds every March 30 to commemorate his birthday.
Alawiye added that several prominent gospel ministers and artistes will grace the event to lead participants in praise and worship.
Among those expected are Rt. Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Okunlola (aka Baba Ire Owuro), Esther Igbekele, Florence Moyinjesu, Biyi Samuel, AY Solid Apala, Lolade Adeleke, Prophet Olayinka Sonola, Psalm 67, Boye Best, among others.
He further explained that, in addition to the empowerment programme, all individuals born in the month of March will be specially celebrated during the festival.
The Alagbawi Nla Praise Festival has over the years, grown into a significant spiritual and social gathering, combining worship with humanitarian outreach, particularly for widows and less privileged individuals in the community.
